1. It may be considered difficult to look back at one´s life and
underline only a few memories or steps along
underline only a few memories or steps along the way. And to be quite honest i can not give more importance to one thing than to another, so my memories are a bunch of peculiar and personal moments in my life. The first one is my favorite animated series when i was younger and that was Dragon Ball. I never ever missed an episode and when i think of TV when i was younger i think of Songoku, who was my favorite character.
2. Probably my greatest accomplishment to date was getting into college. Even though this was not my first choice in terms of institutions i have come to love being a part of it. I look at it as the best of both worlds - the best level in education and the stillness of a small town. Just perfect for academic life.
3. A computer can be used for so many things - some call it a doorway into a new world, and taking that analogy into account i was a late bloomer in terms of that. It was only when i came to university that i adquired full internet access. I think of it as a window. I'm not dependent of it but i like the view. I'm also starting to learn how to use its tools better but i'm adamant of learning without the help of either the internet or the computer as a whole. I'm a true believer that knowledge is something that is pursued and not clicked on.
4. I broke my foot when i was about 7. What i remember most from this experience is the way i learnt the hard way to always know my limits and to play but always within a safe zone. I also remember how i felt stupid about the whole thing.
5. There is one thing that i love above any other - animals. And i have a very particular affection for dogs. I have three dogs - i cry when they die at movies. All with strange names - the strangesT of them all teka which was named after the line of kitchen advices. She's a labrador and i love her to bits.
6. Movies are a big part of our culture and they are sometime as easily associated with a specific time in our life. One movie that really touched me and is really a mark in my life is Fernando Meireles´s City of God. The movie has a deep connection with a side of Rio de Janeiro that doesn't come across in the overload of publicity about the city. It's gritty and almost a social documentary and commentary of a true lifestyle.
7. My first girlfriend. It could almost be the title of a Woody Allen picture. I could go into a really personal text, but i'll just say that it taught me a lot about human nature and myself actually. I learnt patience and the importance of communication in relationships. That said i can still run into some problems in relationships.
8. My first mobile was one of the changing points in my life. It's stupid but the simple fact that i had a way of controlling who i got in contact with opened a whole new realm of possibilities to me. I'm not an addict but i really like my cell phone.
9. I wanted to talk about what it felt like riding in my first bike, but sadly i can only remember it from photos. It was a small red metalic bike. I really liked it and still feel like it was a staple in my childhood.
10. Probably the best memory i have is my first car. It was a black Fiat Uno. I could write another whole paper with things and places that my car has enabled me to do. I love driving my car. It gives me a feeling of immense freedom to feel the wind running through my fingers. My car gives me the sense that i could just drive endlessly if i felt like it. That's what i adore about it... freedom.
